Benjamin Strong has been offered an assistantship with full tuition waiver at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Benjamin will be pursuing a master of music in vocal performance studying under Metropolitan Opera and international bass, Peter Volpe. The Jacobs School is arguably the finest program in the country for vocal performance.
While at IUP, Benjamin garnered national acclaim when he competed at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the Pittsburgh District. He won the Demareus Cooper Encouragement Award while being the youngest competitor by 10 years. Also, Benjamin placed second at the National Association of Teachers of Singing National competition held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Benjamin wishes to fulfill his professional goals by performing opera around the world.
While at IUP he studied voice with Joseph Baunoch.
